Morning Classes in Session
The morning session is normally divided into two class meetings of approximately fifty minutes each, separated by a ten-minute break. Meeting times vary for curricular options; see individual course description pages.
Lunch and Midday Break
During the midday break, which is approximately two hours, students can eat lunch, do homework, use the gym, explore the neighborhood, relax with friends, and participate in a variety of organized activities, including athletics, arts and crafts, panels on college admissions and other topics of interest, community outreach projects, special interest clubs, trips to local restaurants, and mini field trips. Please be aware that meeting times for some curricular options overlap with the midday period; see individual course description pages.
Afternoon Classes in Session
The afternoon session is normally broken into two class meetings of approximately fifty minutes each, separated by a ten-minute break. Meeting times vary for curricular options; see individual course description pages.
In the early evening, all students can participate in additional organized activities, including community outreach activities, special interest clubs and seminars, cultural activities, and a talent show.
For students in the residential program, optional on-campus activities and off-campus trips are available almost every evening.
Saturday and Sunday
On the weekends, residential students are free to participate in organized activities, both on campus and around New York, or to explore the city on their own.
