Course Seats and Required Preparation
Admitted students may register for any course for which they are prepared–i.e., any noted prerequisites must be fulfilled.
In over-enrolled courses, Columbia degree candidates often have priority over non-degree students.
College Edge students typically enroll in lower-level (1000–2999) courses and must obtain special permission from the Advisor of the Pre-College Programs to register for upper-level courses (3000 and above).
Please note that some courses have prerequisites. In addition, College Edge students are restricted from enrolling in workshop and seminar courses.
Important note for international students
In order to be eligible for a student (F-1) visa, students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents must maintain full-time status by registering for at least 6 points (about 2 courses) of credit-bearing courses in any of the six-week sessions.
The University reserves the right to withdraw or modify the courses of instruction ot to change the instructors as may become necessary. We recommend you speak with an Advisor for the most up-to-date information available.
