A long-time geek at heart, Kai D. Wright is a trained data and social scientist masquerading in media and marketing. From childhood, Wright turned a personal curiosity for math and science into a professional passion for applying creativity strategically, namely using mass communication (marketing, advertising, content, and PR).
Before he was placed on 30 under 30 lists for Forbes, Adweek, and CableFax, Wright was a vice president at Atom Factory, REVOLT TV, and Porter Novelli. As a global consulting director at Ogilvy, Wright advises clients on disruption. He is an avid world traveler and global culture junkie, having lived in Germany and France in addition to having visited over 20 countries.
A proud lifelong learner, Wright earned a bachelor’s in economics from The University of Chicago followed by a master’s in strategic communication from Columbia University.
As a lecturer at Columbia University, Wright teaches “Battle of the Mind” and "Principles in Persuasion" to graduate students. Through teaching, Wright weaves communication and influencer with his business and pop culture acumen, acquired while working for Fortune 100 clients including Bank of America, IBM, HP, Bacardi, and L’Oreal, to name a few. He has also worked for leading cultural influencers including artist/entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs (REVOLT) and investor/music manager Troy Carter (Atom Factory).
