Information Session: Summer Business Information Session
Jan 18, 2018 - 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Event will be held online
During the summer, Columbia University has three exciting business offerings for rising juniors and rising seniors.
Business Edge takes an intensive approach to developing foundational skills in accounting, leadership, marketing, and finance. You will join a cohort of exceptional students from throughout the world that meets on weekday mornings in courses taught by faculty from Columbia Business School. Each instructor will guide you in a case study approach (similar to the one used in MBA programs) that applies the four areas of knowledge to a group project. Your experience culminates with an exciting day of group presentations conducted boardroom style.
Business Practice will augment and solidify your business knowledge while giving you the opportunity to apply what you know (and what you learn) to real-world problems. You will combine a full-time internship at a New York City firm with a graduate-level business course at Columbia in one of six areas: Corporate Finance, Leadership, Managing Information, Marketing Strategy, Negotiations, or Security Analysis. Courses are taught by faculty practitioners—professionals who are actively working in their fields—who also serve as mentors to discuss your career goals, internship project and course-related issues throughout the six-week program.
Business Plus provides students and professionals who are not proficient in English with oral and writing skills alongside a course in science, math, or business.
This online information session will provide details on the schedules, course options, instructors, experience, and application process. The informal setting will allow you plenty of time to have your questions addressed by the presenters.
