Amita Singh has been a management consultant with over 15 years of industry experience that spans the energy sector, the transportation sector, as well as an advisory role to the U.S. Federal Government. Her area of specialization is in application of statistical methods to engineering economic analyses, cost estimation and risk assessments of capital-intensive infrastructure projects.
Dr. Singh's academic focus is in the field of Applied Mathematics/Operations Research. She received her Master’s degree in Operations Research, and Doctorate in Systems Engineering from George Washington University (GWU) in Washington DC. Her research interests are in the area of probability theory and its applications.
She has published her research in journals such as Decision Analysis, European Journal of Operations Research, and Communications in Statistics.
She has been a visiting faculty member at the Engineering Management and Systems Engineering department at GWU. Presently, in addition to teaching in the Applied Analytics program at Columbia University she also teaches management courses at Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business.
