Shelley Satlzman Named to IELTS USA Higher Education Advisory Council

Shelley Satlzman, Associate Director for Curriculum and Assessment and senior lecturer for Columbia University’s American Language Program, is one of ten educators named to the inaugural IELTS USA Higher Education Advisory Council. The IELTS (International English Language Test System) "administers over 2 million exams per year and is the world’s most widely used English language test for higher education and global migration,” says Saltzman.

The council convenes to discuss the current state of IELTS in the United States and worldwide, offer feedback, and consider future initiatives. Saltzman explains that the council acts as an “external review panel specifically related to policies, procedures, and activities associated with international higher education.”
