Kathryn Jergovich

Kathryn Jergovich has been teaching ESL since 2009. She has taught English for both academic and general purposes in the U.S. and China. In the past, she has also worked as an ESL assessment specialist at Educational Testing Service and a scorer of ESL writing tests at Georgetown University’s Center for Language Education and Development. In addition to teaching in the ALP, she currently develops ESL listening test items for Educational Testing Service. She received a B.A. in English and Spanish from the University of Virginia and an M.S. in applied linguistics from Georgetown University. Her academic interests include fairness and validity in language testing, intercultural communication, applied cognitive linguistics, and critical pedagogy.
