PepsiCo: Committed to Career Development at Any Age

Indra Nooyi, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo, wrote the foreword to Wingard's book, Learning to Succeed: Rethinking Corporate Education in a World of Unrelenting Change, and affirmed PepsiCo's commitment to being a comprehensive learning organization that values professional development, with learning initiatives linking directly to the company’s goals.

Umran Beba, CHRO for PepsiCo, spoke to the students in Dean Wingard's Organizational Strategy and Learning course in January. She shared her experiences and how she used trials throughout her career as an advantage to develop her voice, her core values, and what she prioritizes as a leader.

As a scholar/practitioner, Beba contributed to a white paper for the 2017 World Economic Forum: “Realizing Human Potential in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: An Agenda for Leaders to Shape the Future of Education, Gender and Work.” In it, the authors propose “a new deal on lifelong learning,” urging the public and private sectors to adopt new models that support learning throughout career spans.
